This year’s Autumn Show will be held a month earlier than usual, on Monday 18 August, at 7.30pm in the Old Library at Charlton House.
Please note that due to the earlier date, the Potato competition will be judged as part of the Show Table at September’s meeting.
Here’s a reminder of last year’s efforts!
The classes you can enter this year are shown below, please have a go at as many as you like!
CLASSES:
1. Flowers, 3 stems of same cultivar
2. Bowl or vase of mixed flowers
3. Superb Salvias – 1 stem
4. One rose stem (multi or single-bloom)
5. Vase of shrubs or foliage, 3 stems mixed
6. Display of ornamental seed heads
7. Five Fuchsia blooms (heads only, same or mixed)
8. Pot plant: indoor houseplant or outdoor, incl. cactus/succulent
9. Apples (plate of 3, stalks on)
10. Display of fruit, mixed
11. Display of vegetables, mixed
12. Tomatoes (dish of 5, stalks on)
13. Display of herbs
14. Preserves: jam, jelly, marmalade, pickle or chutney
15. Baking – Celebrating 75 Years of CABAHS, a 1950s recipe (suggested recipe* or your own)
16. Floral Display: celebrating 75 Years of CABAHS
17. Photograph to show a Display of Plants on a garden table (digital only, to be displayed on a screen*)
18. Wildcard (anything not covered above!)
Remember this is not an RHS show, it’s a competition for fun! There are a few prizes to be won, and there will be a cup for Best in Show.
NOTES
Everything except the ingredients for Classes 14 ,15 & 17 must be home grown by members.
Please bring your own vases, except for the Fuchsia heads (Class 7), where containers are supplied. Water will be available.
